Handbag/Accessories Design and Product Development Intern

FEED is hiring a Design and Product Development Intern for Fall 2017. To qualify for this internship, you must be a college student or recent graduate who is able to work out of our New York office 3 days/week, 10AM – 6PM.


Position Overview: Our Design and Product Development internship offers you the chance to do meaningful work and help build our product assortment as we evolve our brand forward. You will work in a creative and inspiring workplace, alongside industry professionals to facilitate the end-to-end creative and technical design process of bringing new bags and accessories to life.  


Responsibilities: We are looking for an intern who can support our product team in SS18 and Fall 18 concept, design and development.


Design and PD:

  • Support the product team with mood boards, concept sketches, digital handbag/accessories mockups, tech packs, and sample revisions.
  • Source inspiration locally, research new materials, techniques, and embellishments.
  • Trend shopping trips with the product team.
  • Organize development samples, materials and color standards. 
  • Aid in style creation.
  • Contribute to our product team meetings, share design and development feedback, and new ideas.
  • Contribute to our hardware overhaul, aiding in the design and development of our own custom hardware. 


An ideal candidate…

  • Has experience in fashion design or product development (in school or preferably work/internship experience).
  • Is proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Lives and breathes design and product development.   
  • Thrives when she/he is working on multiple projects, with quick deadlines, and doesn’t require a lot of structure.
  • Has tons of creative (and positive) energy to contribute to a small team with large ambitions.  
  • Is proactive and exceptionally organized and detail-oriented.
  • Can assist with hands-on mock ups, hand sewing, sketching new designs, drafting ideas, updating tech packs.
